Title
Substitute resolution appropriating funds from the Community and Economic Development Committee Fund for various purposes.
Analysis
This resolution appropriates up to $2,500 for ComforceMKE, up to $4,200 to OneMKE, up to $2,500 to Pot of Gold and related events, and up to $2,500 from MERA Cares from the Community and Economic Development Committee Fund. It also rescinds the remaining balances of unspent funds appropriated to the 2025 Milwaukee Sister Cities Day Meet and Greet Celebration Event ($1,421.13) and the 2025 MKE Business Now Entrepreneurship Summit ($1,825.13).

Whereas, The Community and Economic Development Committee Fund is intended to promote programs that further the development of the city’s economy and communities; and
Whereas, ComforceMKE is a local community platform that supports crime prevention programming and neighborhood safety and engagement; and
Whereas, OneMKE is a nonpartisan coalition that provides transparent and easy to access information to help citizens access local, state, and federal services and resources; and
Whereas, Pot of Gold and related events raise awareness to combat human trafficking in the city; and
Whereas, MERA Cares is a website that helps connect people to therapists and psychologists and is an important mental health resource for the community; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that $1,421.13 previously appropriated to the 2025 Milwaukee Sister Cities Day Meet and Greet Celebration Event from the Community and Economic Development Committee Fund is rescinded; and, be it
Further Resolved, That $1,825.13 previously appropriated to the 2025 MKE Business Now Entrepreneurship Summit event from the Community and Economic Development Committee Fund is rescinded; and, be it
