- Analysis - This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to install the new traffic signals in conjunction with a Federal/State Aid cost participating highway improvements contract with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.


BODY:
Whereas, The Federal Surface Transportation Program-Safety provides cost participation for traffic control improvements at locations having accident reduction potential; and

Whereas, Common Council Resolution File Number 951763, adopted April 2, 1996 authorized and directed the Commissioner of Public Works to execute an agreement for programming and construction of traffic control improvements at two locations under the 1997-1998 Surface Transportation Program-Safety; and

Whereas, The total estimated cost of this project is $63,000 for the installation of new traffic signals; and

Whereas, Five percent of the participating project cost or $3,150 is non-reimbursable, and is partially offset by the City of Wauwatosa's participating share, and is included in the Division's 1998 Capital Purpose Account #32-550-0001; and

Whereas, Ninety-five percent of the participating project cost or $59,850 is reimbursable from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, and this amount is not included in Division accounts, and should be earmarked for this project in the 1998 Capital Grant and Aid Projects Fund 32-010-0000; now, therefore, be it
