- Analysis -

This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public works to install the necessary traffic signal improvements in conjunction with a Federal/State Aid cost participating highway improvements contract with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. ___________________________________________________________
BODY:
Whereas, The Federal Surface Transportation-Safety provides cost participation for traffic control improvements at locations having accident reduction potential; and

Whereas, Common Council Resolution File Number 980707, adopted September 29, 1998 authorized and directed the Commissioner of Public Works to execute an agreement for programming and construction of traffic control improvements at five locations under the 1998-1999 Surface Transportation Program-Safety; and

Whereas, The total estimated cost of this project is $40,000 for the modification of traffic signal facilities; and

Whereas, Ten percent of the participating project cost or $4,000 is non-reimbursable and is included in the Division's 2000 Capital Purpose Project/Grant Number ST320000000; and

Whereas, Ninety percent of the participating project cost or $36,000 is reimbursable from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, and this amount is not included in Division accounts, and should be earmarked for this project in the 2000 Capital Grant and Aid Projects Fund Project/Grant Number SP032000100; now, ...
