Analysis

This motion directs the Department of City Development to initiate a zoning map amendment to assign a single zoning designation, Two-Family Residential (RT4), to the property located at 1026 N 24th Street.

Body

Whereas, In 2017, the City sold a vacant lot with the address of 1022 North 24th Street to the owner of the adjacent property at 1026 North 24th Street, with the combined parcel having the address 1026 North 24th Street; and

 

Whereas, One of the lots involved in this parcel consolidation was zoned Two-Family Residential, RT4, while the other was zoned Local Business, LB2, resulting in a single parcel with mixed zoning; and

 

Whereas, It is appropriate to correct this mixed zoning situation by amending the zoning map so that the entire site is zoned Two-Family Residential; and

 

Whereas, Section 295-307-2-b of the Code of Ordinances provides that an amendment to the zoning map may be initiated by a motion of the Common Council; now, therefore

 

It is moved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Department of City Development is directed to draft and introduce an ordinance to amend the zoning map by assigning a single zoning designation, Two-Family Residential (RT4), to the parcel located at 1026 North 24th Street.
