Title

Motion relating to restricting meetings of standing committees on days of regular meetings of the common council.

Analysis

This motion amends the Common Council Procedure and Rules to prohibit meetings of standing committees prior to a regular meeting of the common council, on the same day as the council meeting, unless approved by the council president.

Part 1.  Article V, Section 4-3 of the Common Council Procedure and Rules is created to read:

Article V.  COMMITTEES.

Section 4.  Committee Meetings.

3.  No meeting of a standing committee may be scheduled prior to a regular meeting of the council, on the same day as the council meeting, unless approved by the council president.
