Resolution relative to application for a Books to Read and Experience Grant. (Library)

ANLS:

This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Public Library to apply for a Books to Read and Experience Grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction in the amount of $25,576 with a city share of $576 and a grantor share of $25,000. The purpose of the project is to provide large print materials and talking book kits to parents and agencies that serve children with disabilities.

BODY:

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the State of Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 01/01/00 to 12/31/00 would cost $25,576 of which $576 (2%) would be provided by the city and $25,000 (98%) would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the State of Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction is authorized.
