Currently one member of the ambulance service board is designated by the hospital council of greater Milwaukee. This ordinance changes the name of the organization to the Wisconsin health and hospital association since the Milwaukee council recently merged with the Wisconsin association.


BODY:
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

Part 1. Section 75-15-2-a of the code is amended to read:

75-15 Ambulance Certification Regulations.

a. Establishment. An ambulance service board is established consisting of the commissioner of health, who shall serve as chair, the chief of the fire department, the medical direction of the Milwaukee County paramedical program, a member of the common council appointed by the common council president, a designee of the Emergency Medical Services committee of the Medical Society of Milwaukee County, a designee of the [Hospital Council of Greater Milwaukee]] >>Wisconsin Health and Hospital Association<< and a public member representing the interests of citizens who shall be appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the common council. Both the common council member and the public member shall be appointed by their respective appointing authorities within 60 days after commencement of a new common council term or within 60 days after a vacancy in the board position occurs, whichever is later.
