Analysis
This resolution authorizes and directs the Commissioner of Public Works to proceed with the procurement of professional services for Sewer System Evaluation Surveys in selected sanitary sewer basins.
Body
Whereas, The City has been performing Sewer System Evaluation Surveys (SSES) in various sanitary sewer basins; and
 
Whereas, The purpose of an SSES is to estimate the amounts of infiltration and inflow (I/I) in sanitary sewers and to recommend the necessary solutions to reduce the I/I; and
 
Whereas, Excessive I/I potentially causes surcharging of sanitary sewers and can lead to basement backups; and
 
Whereas, Funds have been budgeted in the Sewer Maintenance Fund 634001-0490-6831-0110 for Sewer System Evaluation Surveys in sanitary sewer basins; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to proceed with the procurement of professional services for Sewer System Evaluation Surveys in selected sanitary sewer basins.
