Resolution directing the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a document titled “State/Municipal Agreement for a State-Let Highway Project” with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the programming, design, and construction of the intersections of North 60th Street at Keefe and Burleigh, and to set up funds for design engineering at an estimated total cost of $257,500 with an estimated City share of $25,750 and a grantor share of $231,750.
Analysis
This resolution directs the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a State/Municipal Agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the programming, design, and construction of the intersections of 60th Street at Keefe and Burleigh. The State/Municipal Agreement provides for 90 percent Federal and State aid and 10 percent local cost sharing for preliminary engineering. The total estimated cost of this project is $1,965,340 with a City share of $255,340 and a grantor share of $1,710,000. This resolution also directs the City Comptroller to transfer funds for preliminary engineering at an estimated cost of $257,500 with an estimated City share of $25,750 and a grantor share of $231,750. Construction funds for this project will be included in future resolutions.

Whereas, A project agreement has been requested and received from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) to be executed by the City of Milwaukee for the programming, design, and construction of the intersections of North 60th Street at Keefe and Burleigh with Federal and State aid under the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP); and
Whereas, The Department of Public Works shall notify the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee of project cost overruns and changes in scope approved by the Department of Public Works; and
