This resolution authorizes and directs the City Engineer and the Commissioner of Public Works to enter into a contract with a consulting engineering firm to test materials for sewer, water, paving and other construction and maintenance contracts as applicable.
Body
Whereas, It is necessary for the City of Milwaukee to engage a consulting firm to test materials for City construction projects; and
 
Whereas, The cost for testing is included in each construction project and the total is estimated to be $120,000; and
 
Whereas, This material testing helps ensure compliance with material quality provisions of City construction contracts; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works and the City Engineer are hereby authorized to enter into a contract with a qualified consulting engineering firm to test materials for sewer, water, paving and other construction and maintenance contracts with costs to be charged to the applicable contracts.
