Analysis
This ordinance requires, commencing with the license period beginning December 1, 2009, that vehicles of model years greater than 10 years shall only be replaced with vehicles that meet the minimum mileage standard of 25 miles to the gallon of combined fuel economy. Commencing with the license period beginning December 1, 2011, vehicles of model years greater than 10 years shall only be replaced with vehicles that meet the minimum mileage standard of 30 miles to the gallon of combined fuel economy.
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Section 100-50-3-c of the code is renumbered 100-50-3-c-1.
Part 2. Section 100-50-3-c-2 and 3 of the code is created to read:
100-50. Public Passenger Vehicle Permits.
3. ELIGIBILITY
c-2. With the license period beginning December 1, 2009, vehicles referenced in
subd. 1 shall only be replaced with vehicles that meet the minimum mileage standard of 25 miles to the gallon of combined fuel economy.
c-3. With the license period beginning December 1, 2011, vehicles referenced in
subd. 1 shall only be replaced with vehicles that meet the minimum mileage standard of 30 miles to the gallon of combined fuel economy.
