Title
Substitute resolution relating to procedures for the selection of a new city flag.
Analysis
The Common Council on the behalf of the City of Milwaukee formally accepted the current city flag on January 25, 1955. The images on the city flag used to symbolize the City of Milwaukee in 1955 do not entirely provide an accurate representation of the city today. The Arts Board facilitated the matter of selecting an appropriate design for the current city flag by holding a citywide design competition. This resolution authorizes the Arts Board to hold a citywide competition for the redesign of the city flag and authorizes the expenditure of $5,000 for this purpose.
