Title:          

Resolution authorizing the Milwaukee Police Department to accept a donation of money from the Blue Coats Foundation.  (Police Department)

Analysis:      

This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept a donation of $1,000 from the Blue Coats Foundation, to be used to upgrade the technology and efficiencies of the Department's video studio operations.  

Body:

Whereas, Section 304-24 of the City of Milwaukee Code of Ordinances regulates the receipt, appropriation and expenditure of contributions received by the City; and

Whereas, The Blue Coats Foundation has offered to donate $1,000 to the Milwaukee Police Department; and

Whereas, This donation will assist the Milwaukee Police Department in upgrading the technology and efficiencies of its video studio operations; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City of Milwaukee Police Department is authorized to accept a donation of $1,000 from the Blue Coats Foundation; and, be it

Further Resolved, That such authority to accept donations for said purpose shall continue, unless otherwise rescinded or amended by future Common Council action.
