Resolution accepting the donation of a vacant lot located at 2122 North 16th Street from Lutheran Social Action Conference, Inc. and removing the deed restriction on same, in the 17th Aldermanic District. (DCD-Real Estate)
Analysis
This resolution will result in the acceptance of a donated vacant lot and at the same time remove the deed restriction to allow for new residential construction.
Body
Whereas, Lutheran Social Action Conference, Inc. wishes to donate to the City of Milwaukee ("City") a vacant lot at 2122 North 16th Street, which is adjacent to other City-owned lots in the City/WHEDA target area; and
Whereas, The Department of City Development ("DCD") recommends acceptance of the deed contingent upon receiving clear title along with a historical check to assure that no potential environmental problems exist; and
Whereas, Upon acceptance of the lot, DCD also recommends the removal of a deed restriction imposed by the City that prohibits division of property and construction of any principal building on it; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that said donation is accepted and that the proper City officials are authorized and directed to execute the necessary documents to remove the restrictions contained in the deed to allow for new residential construction.
