Title

Motion relating to amendments to licensing recommendations.

Analysis

Currently the Common Council Procedure and Rules requires that all amendments to Council files that are presented on the Council floor must be in writing.  This motion exempts amendments to committee recommendations on licenses and permits.

Body

It is moved by the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that Article IV, Section 6, of the Common Council Procedure and Rules is amended to read:

ARTICLE IV

COUNCIL FILES

Section 6. Amendments. Any amendment to be introduced on the floor of the council shall be presented in writing to the clerk, and a copy of the amendment shall be given to each member present at the meeting.  >>This section does not apply to an amendment to a committee recommendation as to whether a license or permit shall be issued, denied, renewed, nonrenewed, suspended or revoked.<<
