Analysis

This resolution implements a provision of the 2003 City budget that directs that the manner in which a budgeted $342,240 reduction in Special Duty Pay related to fire company staffing levels is to be achieved is to be left to the new Fire Chief.

Body

Whereas, The 2003 adopted City budget contains a footnote directing that a $342,240 reduction in Special Duty Pay related to fire company staffing levels be achieved at the discretion of the new Fire Chief; and

Whereas,  The City expects that a new Fire Chief will be hired shortly, and it is in the best interests of the City to hold a decision of this kind until a new chief is selected; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the 2003 reduction of $342,240 in Special Duty Pay related to fire company staffing levels shall be achieved at the discretion of the new Fire Chief.
