Substitute Resolution relative to the application, acceptance and funding of a Wisconsin Department of Transportation Harbor Assistance Grant Project for the Port of Milwaukee in connection with road and rail crossing rehabilitation on East Scott Street and Lincoln Memorial Drive.
BODY:
Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation, in accordance with State Statute, requires a Statement of Project Intentions from local units of government intending to apply for Federal and/or State aid for harbor related work of benefit to commercial transportation within the next three years; and

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee approved the Three-Year Harbor Development Statement of Intentions for the Port of Milwaukee for 1999-2001 through adoption of Resolution File Number 971719 on March 16, 1998; and

Whereas, Such Statement of Intentions, which includes the aforementioned project was transmitted to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation; and

Whereas, Such Statement of Intentions includes Road and Rail Crossing Rehabilitation on East Scott Street and Lincoln Memorial Drive as a 1999 project; and

Whereas, The Port of Milwaukee desires to make application with the State of Wisconsin for Harbor Assistance Program aid, and

Whereas, The aforementioned project will be administered by the Department of Public Works; and

Whereas, Mr. Mariano A. Schifalacqua, City Engineer, will be the contact person for the project and is authorized to sign forms and claims; and

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee will accept responsibility for the maintenance of the proposed project after completion; and...
