Title

Resolution authorizing an easement with Menard, Inc. on City of Milwaukee property at 9009 North Granville Station Road, in the 9th Aldermanic District.

Analysis

This resolution authorizes an easement for underground water utilities and facilities across and at a City-owned property.

Body

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee is preparing for the redevelopment of the former Northridge Mall site at 9009 North Granville Station Road (“Development Site”); and

 

Whereas, To accommodate the redevelopment, the City of Milwaukee has presented Menard, Inc. with an offer to acquire an underground water utilities and facilities easement (“Easement”) at and across the Development Site; and

 

Whereas, A copy of the Easement and related map is attached to this Common Council File; and

 

Whereas, The Easement is for the benefit of the City of Milwaukee, and Menard, Inc. is not being asked to pay any fee for the Easement; and

 

Whereas, Legal title to City of Milwaukee real property is held in the name of the City of Milwaukee, and conveyance of City of Milwaukee property and property rights requires adoption of a resolution by the Common Council approving such action; and

 

Whereas, The Department of City Development has reviewed the Easement and recommends approval; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Easement with Menard, Inc. at the City-owned property at 9009 North Granville Station Road is approved; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the required City officials are authorized to execute the easement on behalf of the City.
