Analysis
Adoption of this resolution by at least two-thirds vote of the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee will approve the blight designation of three privately owned properties for acquisition by the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee and authorize the subsequent conveyance according to the conditions in the Land Disposition Report.
Body
Whereas, Bostik Findley, Inc. requested that the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee (“Authority”) help market its manufacturing facility at 30th and Center Streets for redevelopment and to use its blight designation authority pursuant to Section 66.1333, Wisconsin Statutes, to facilitate the sale to a third party; and

Whereas, Bostik Findley, Inc. has conducted Phase II environmental testing, has agreed to remediate the site and has applied for a Wisconsin Voluntary Liability Exemption so as to eliminate environmental liability for the Authority and the third-party buyer; and

Whereas, The Authority, in cooperation with the 30th Street Industrial Corridor (“ICC”), solicited proposals for the purchase and redevelopment of the facility so as to encourage job creation and neighborhood revitalization; and

Whereas, Two proposals were received and a review committee recommended acceptance of the offer by CAPTA, LLC, a company related to Lena's Food Markets, the selection of which is acceptable to Bostik Findley, Inc.; and
