Analysis
This resolution amends Common Council File 001295 relative to and funding of the Well Women Health Initiative Grant. The purpose of the grant is to expand the scope of the Wisconsin Women's Cancer Control Program beyond its current focus of breast and cervical cancer screening to include health promotion and risk reduction for cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, diabetes, mental illness and domestic violence.

Whereas, Common Council File 001295 authorized the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund the Well Women Health Initiative Grant from the State of Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services for the purpose of expanding the scope of the Wisconsin Women's Cancer Control Program beyond its current focus of breast and cervical cancer screening to include health promotion and risk reduction for cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, diabetes, mental illness and domestic violence. This grant provided for a Grantor share total of $65,692 and City Share of $16,674; and

Whereas, The Program costs for this program are increased by $82,366 with an increase of $65,692 provided by the grantor and an increase of $16,674 in the City share; now, therefore be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that application to the State of Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services is authorized and the Health Department shall accept such a grant without further Common Council approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
