Analysis

This resolution authorizes payment in an amount not to exceed $15,000 to Integra Realty Resources - Chicago, for expert appraisal services relating to Saint John’s Communities, Inc.’s claims against the City of Milwaukee for property tax refunds.

Body

Whereas, On May 29, 2020, Saint John’s Communities brought a lawsuit against the City of Milwaukee to recover property taxes paid for tax year 2019; and

 

Whereas, The City desires to have Integra Realty Resources - Chicago provide expert appraisal services, so the City may defend against claims and prepare for and testify at trial; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City Attorney is authorized to execute a Contract for Expert Services between the City of Milwaukee and Integra Realty Resources - Chicago for expert services rendered in the defense and trial of Saint John’s Communities, Inc. v. City of Milwaukee, Milwaukee County Circuit Court Case No. 2020-CV-3223; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That an amount not to exceed $15,000 is appropriated from the City Attorney’s Office Outside/Counsel Expert Witness Special Purpose Account Number 0001-1490-S157-06300 for retaining expert witnesses; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Office of the City Attorney is authorized to expend up to $15,000 from this account for this purpose.
