Analysis

This resolution directs the Department of City Development to prepare a resolution which vacates said portion of alley in accordance with vacation proceedings under power granted to the City of Milwaukee by Section 66.297(1), Wisconsin Statutes, and Section 81-308-28, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances. This vacation is necessary for the sale of City-owned land for the construction of Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

Body

Whereas, It has been proposed by the Department of City Development that a portion of the East leg of alley in the block bounded by North 12th Street, North 13th Street, West Burleigh Street and West Ring Street be vacated pursuant to the provisions of Section 66.297, Wisconsin Statutes; and

Whereas, The vacation of said portion of alley is necessary for the construction of a church; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Department of City Development is directed to prepare a resolution to vacate said portion of alley in accordance with Section 81-308-28 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances.
