Resolution relative to the cost participation and installation of traffic signal improvements under three Congestion Mitigation Air Quality projects in various Aldermanic Districts at a total estimated cost of $3,626,155.96, with an estimated grantor share of $2,900,924.77, and an estimated City share of $725,231.19.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works and Comptroller to enter into three Local Force Account agreements with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the installation of traffic signal improvements using City forces at various intersections citywide under in various Aldermanic Districts at a total estimated cost of $3,626,155.96, with an estimated grantor share of $2,900,924.77, and an estimated City share of $725,231.19 and to install these improvements upon execution of the agreements. This resolution also authorizes the Comptroller to establish and transfer funds to the appropriate accounts for the project.

Whereas, Three Project Agreements for the installation of traffic signal improvements under the Congestion Mitigation Air Quality program were approved by the Common Council under File Numbers 191663 and 200575; and
Whereas, The Congestion Mitigation Air Quality program is intended to reduce delay and vehicle emissions; and
Whereas, Two hundred two intersections have been identified for replacement of traffic signal controllers and installation of improved communications; and
Whereas, The total estimated cost of these projects is $3,357,551.81 for the upgrade of traffic control signals; and
Whereas, The total estimated cost for state review for the projects is $268,604.15; and
Whereas, $725,231.19 is not reimbursable and is included in the Division’s 2021 Capital Purpose Project Grant Number ST320210000; and
Whereas, $2,686,041.45 is reimbursable from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, and should be earmarked...
