Resolution appropriates $550,000 reservation from the Common Council Contingent Fund to the City Attorney Collection Contract to fund collection activity service for the remainder of the year for City receivables and overdue Municipal Court judgments.
Body
Whereas, On December 21, 2001 the Common Council passed resolution file number 011094 authorizing a contract with the Kohn Law Firm for the collection of City receivables and on February 12, 2003 passed resolution file number 011488 authorizing a contract with Professional Placement Services, L.L.C. (PPS) for the collection of overdue Municipal Court judgments; and
Whereas, Funding for both these activities is under the jurisdiction of the City Attorney's Office Collection Contract Special Purpose Account; and
Whereas, Expenditures for the Kohn Law Firm through June 19, 2003 total $160,878.76 and expenditures for PPS through May, 2003 total $724,741.65; collection services year-to-date total $885,620.41 and there is a balance of $118,379.59 remaining in the account and additional funding of $550,000 is necessary for the remainder of the year; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that $550,000 be reserved from the Common Council Contingent Fund Account No. 006300-0001-9990-C001-2003 to the City Attorney Collection Contract Special Purpose Account No. 006300-0001-1490-0001-S113-2003.
