This resolution authorizes settlement of the lawsuit of Thraen v. City of Milwaukee, et al., in the amount of $9,345.69. _____________________________________________
BODY:
Whereas, The plaintiff, John A. Thraen, while riding his bicycle upon the St. Paul Avenue Bridge, owned and operated by the City of Milwaukee, sustained injuries in an accident involving a City of Milwaukee Bridge Tender; and
Whereas, A jury in Milwaukee County Circuit Court has awarded him $9,345.69 in damages; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the proper City officers be and hereby are authorized and directed to issue a City check in the amount of $9,345.69 payable to the order of John A. Thraen and Gaines Law Offices, S.C., his attorneys, in full and final settlement of the plaintiff's claims against the City of Milwaukee, upon receipt of a Satisfaction of Judgment, approved as to form and execution by the City Attorney, said amount to be charged to the Damages and Claims Fund, Account No. 01-149-0-6382--013-8001.
