Resolution releasing certain deed restrictions related to the August 2000 conveyance of the property at 1208-A West Wright Street, in the 15th Aldermanic District.
Analysis
This resolution releases deed restrictions placed on a property at the time of sale on August 17, 2000, to be recorded at the register of deeds.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee (“City”) previously owned a vacant lot property known as 1208-A West Wright Street, now combined and known as 1208 West Wright Street (“The Property”); and

Whereas, The City sold The Property previously on August 17, 2000 to Arthur Lee Mason and Janie Mason with a quit claim deed that contained certain restrictions (Recorded document number 07966661 at the Milwaukee County Register of Deeds); and

Whereas, The 2000 quit claim deed imposed restrictions that The Property be combined with the buyer’s property, and that the property could not be divided from the buyer’s property without the approval of the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee; and

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee then foreclosed on the property in 2017; and

Whereas, The structure has since been demolished, and the Property is now a vacant lot with no existing improvements; and

Whereas, The combined lot at 1208 West Wright Street was sold to Milwaukee Community Crossroads for single family new home construction on May 21, 2026; and

Whereas, Milwaukee Community Crossroads will need the deed restriction lifted to complete their approved construction plans; and

Whereas, The local Alderperson is supportive of the construction of these new homes and the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee has previously approved its sale; and

Whereas, To accomplish their development goals, Milwaukee Community Crossroads must have the deed restrictions from the 2000 deed waived by the Common Council; now, therefore, be it
