Analysis
This resolution will result in the sale of a vacant, tax-deed lot to a nonprofit organization for parking purposes.
Body
Whereas, St. John Concordia Christian Methodist Episcopal Tabernacle Church, a nonprofit organization, located at 300-08 West Concordia Avenue has offered $5,110 to purchase the adjoining vacant, tax-deed lot at 3319 North 3rd Street, Tax Key No. 282-0453-100-7, for development of a parking lot; and

Whereas, The Department of City Development ("DCD") recommends acceptance of this Offer contingent upon site plan approval by DCD's Development Center, proof of a financial commitment in place for the development, and completion of improvements within two months from the date of plan approval; and

Whereas, DCD recommends sale in an "as is" condition without representations or warranties including but not limited to soil quality and subsurface condition; and

Whereas, The City Plan Commission has determined that said lot is surplus to municipal needs; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that said lot is declared surplus; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Offer to Purchase from St. John Concordia Christian Methodist Episcopal Tabernacle Church is accepted and that the Commissioner of DCD, or assigns, is authorized and directed to perform such acts as necessary to carry out the intent of this resolution with the proceeds from sale, less a 15 percent development fee to the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee, credited to the Reserve For Tax Deficit Fund Account No. 0001-334106.
