Analysis

This resolution directs the Department of City Development to prepare a resolution which vacates said portion of street in accordance with vacation proceedings under power granted to the City of Milwaukee by Section 66.297(1), Wisconsin Statutes, and Section 81-308-28, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances. This vacation is necessary to assemble a Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee owned site for sale and redevelopment purposes.

Whereas, It has been proposed by the Department of City Development that a portion of North Commerce Street located between North Humboldt Avenue and North Weil Street extended be vacated pursuant to the provisions of Section 66.297, Wisconsin Statutes; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Department of City Development is directed to prepare a resolution to vacate said portion of street in accordance with Section 81-308-28 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances.
