Title
Substitute resolution relating to a Cooperation Agreement between the City of Milwaukee and the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee for the receipt and furnishing of services, materials and equipment by and between the City and the Housing Authority.
Analysis
This resolution approves an Agreement between the City of Milwaukee and the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee for the furnishing of services, materials and equipment by and between the City, through its various departments, and the Housing Authority, with reimbursement for such services, materials and equipment in accordance with the terms and conditions of said Agreement. It further authorizes and directs the proper City officials to enter into and properly execute this Agreement.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee ("City") has historically entered into annual Cooperation Agreements ("Agreements") with the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee ("Housing Authority") for the furnishing of services, materials and equipment to the Housing Authority by the City through its various departments; and

Whereas, In accordance with Wisconsin's Housing Authorities Law, the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee and the Housing Authority have a mutual interest in developing, implementing and accomplishing policy goals that are responsive to and supportive of the community's needs for quality affordable housing; and

Whereas, The purposes and goals of the Housing Authority are shared by the City and the furnishing of services, materials and equipment, upon request and as needed, by and between the Housing Authority and the City is determined to be in the furtherance of their mutual and best interests; and

Whereas, It is recommended that the new Agreement between the Housing Authority and the City, a copy of which is attached to this Common Council file, be entered into to continue such mutual...
