Analysis
This resolution authorizes the submittal of a grant application by the City Engineer of the City of Milwaukee to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) for a Municipal Flood Control Grant project titled Repairs of the Bank Stabilization of the Milwaukee River in the amount of $325,000, of which $97,500 (30%) would be provided by the City and $227,500 (70%) would be provided by the grantor.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee is qualified, willing and able to carry out all activities described in the state grant application; and
Whereas, The City Engineer of the City of Milwaukee has declared his intent to conduct the Municipal Flood Control Grant project described in the application; and
Whereas, The project is estimated to cost $325,000, of which $97,500 (30%) would be provided by the City and $227,500 (70%) would be provided by the DNR; and
Whereas, The City has appropriated sufficient funds for the project; and
Whereas, The City will allow employees from the DNR access to inspect grant project sites; and
Whereas, The City will maintain records documenting all expenditures made during the Municipal Flood Control Grant project; and
Whereas, The City will submit a final report to the Department which describes all Municipal Flood Control Grant project activities, achievements and data collected, and documentation of the project costs; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, That the City Engineer of the City of Milwaukee is hereby authorized to apply for the funds available from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources under the Municipal Flood Control Grant Program and will comply with state rules for the program.
