Analysis
This resolution permits the City of Milwaukee to accept a quit claim deed and easement to acquire and to access property for a stormwater drainage channel for the Milwaukee Water Works.
Body
Whereas, The Milwaukee Water Works (“MWW”) is undertaking a project to improve stormwater drainage at the Riverside Pumping Station at 1311 East Chambers Street and its consultant has recommended installing a drainage channel on the adjacent property to allow stormwater to drain to the Milwaukee River; and

Whereas, The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (“MMSD”), the adjoining property owner, has offered to convey approximately 3,750 square feet of its property at 1314 East Chambers Street to the City of Milwaukee (“City”) for use as a stormwater drainage channel for MWW and to provide an easement to access the channel; and

Whereas, The property to be acquired for the drainage channel is illustrated in Exhibit A, a copy of which is attached to this Common Council File, and is legally described as follows:

That part of the south 30 feet of Government Lot 32 (AKA Lot 32 School Lands) in the Northeast 1/4 of Section 16, Township 7 North, Range 22 East, lying east of the following described line: Commencing at the northwest corner of said Northeast 1/4 Section; thence South 89°29’37” East, along the north line of said Northeast 1/4 Section, 1,165.23 feet to the beginning of the line to be described; thence South 00°30’23” West to a point in the south line of said Lot 32 and the terminus of the described line; and
