Whereas, the Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin has entered a judgment against the City of Milwaukee in the amount of $280,894.56 in City Wide Investments, LLC v. City of Milwaukee, Adv. No. 17-02115; and
Whereas, the Bankruptcy Court further ordered a portion of that payment, $100,808.30, be paid prior to the resolution of the City’s appeal of the same judgment; and
Whereas, The City Attorney recommends and the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee deems it appropriate to pay the initial amount of the judgment ordered by the Bankruptcy Court immediately; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the proper City officials be and are hereby authorized and directed to issue a City check in the amount of $100,808.30 payable to City Wide Investments, LLC as payment on a portion of the debt owed on the judgment entered against the City in City Wide Investments, LLC v. City of Milwaukee, Adv. No. 17-02115, said amount to be charged to the Damages and Claims Fund, Account No. 636505, Fund No. 0001, Organization No. 1490, Program No. 2632, Sub Class No. S118.
