This substitute resolution imposes Interim Historic Designation on the Gordon Park Bathhouse, 1321 East Locust Street.
BODY:
Whereas, The Milwaukee Historic Preservation Ordinance, Section 308-81 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances, provides that Historic Sites, Structures and Districts may be designated as Interim Historic Structures; and Whereas, The Historic Preservation Commission has adopted procedures for the purpose of making these recommendations; and Whereas, The Historic Preservation Commission recommends that Interim Historic Designation be imposed on the Gordon Park Bathhouse, 1321 East Locust Street; and Whereas, This structure possesses integrity of location, design, setting, materials, workmanship and association and fulfills the following criteria set forth in Section 308-81(2)(e): e-1. Its exemplification of the development of the cultural, economic, social or historic heritage of the City of Milwaukee, State of Wisconsin, or of the United States. e-5. Its embodiment of the distinguishing characteristics of an architectural type or specimen. e-9. Its unique location as a singular physical characteristic which represents an established and familiar visual feature of a neighborhood, community or of the City of Milwaukee; now, therefore, be it Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Gordon Park Bathhouse, 1321 East Locust Street, and further described as follows: Tax Key No.: 315-0501-000; GORDON PLACE OF LOTS 26, 27 & 28 IN NE 1/4 SEC 16-7-22 BLOCK 1 TO 6 GORDON PLACE & TRI PART LOT 27 W OF CMSTP&P RR ROW & (GOV'T LOT 24 EXC S 18' of N 27.09' FOR UNPAVED E CENTER ST & GOV'T 25) E OF CMSTP&P RR ROW be assigned Interim Historic Designation.
