Title
Substitute resolution to amend two project agreements with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the programming and construction of traffic signal improvements at various locations in the City of Milwaukee under the Hazard Elimination Safety Program.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the City Comptroller to adjust existing Project/Grant Chartfield Values within the Capital Grant and Aid Projects due to an adjustment to the cost participation agreed upon between the City and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the traffic signal improvements and installation of red light hold at various locations using Hazard Elimination Safety Program funds.
Body
Whereas, Common Council File No. 040231 authorized the Commissioner of Public Works to execute agreements for traffic signal improvements and installations of red light hold at various locations using Hazard Elimination Safety Program (HES) funds; and
Whereas, Contract requirements with Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WISDOT) require additional allocation of cost for preliminary engineering, which will be allocated from the construction costs such that the total project cost will remain the same; and
Whereas, The reallocation of costs requires an adjustment beyond the 10% authorized in Common Council File 040231; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized to amend Project Agreements for the red light hold projects to reallocate costs associated with preliminary engineering and construction with preliminary engineering costs increased in each agreement by $485,000 to a total of $560,000 and construction costs reduced on each agreement by $485,000 to a total of $190,000; and be it
