Whereas, A coalition of non-profit organizations, Milwaukee Earth Day 2000 Coalition, held an Earth Day celebration in MacArthur Square on April 29, 2000; and
Whereas, The Department of Public Works provided the following services to the Milwaukee Earth Day 2000 Coalition in conjunction with the Earth Day celebration: meter hooding, installation of "NO PARKING" signs, provision of electrical service to MacArthur Square; and
Whereas, The Department of Public Works billed the Milwaukee Earth Day 2000 Coalition $982.10 for the City services rendered (Invoice No. 74000); and
Whereas, Subsequent to the Earth Day celebration, Milwaukee Earth Day 2000 Coalition disbanded; and
Whereas, The Milwaukee Common Council finds that it would be impractical, if not impossible, to collect the money owed by the now-defunct Milwaukee Earth Day 2000 Coalition; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, That City of Milwaukee Invoice No. 740000, being a bill for Department of Public Works services rendered in conjunction with the Earth Day 2000 celebration, is cancelled.
