Substitute resolution amending Common Council File 970785 relative to application, acceptance and funding of the Women, Infant and Children's Grant.
ANLS:
This resolution amends Common Council File 970785 relative to the Women, Infant and Children's Grant. The purpose of the grant is to prevent nutrition-related health problems and to improve the health status of low-income, at-risk pregnant or breast-feeding women, infants and children up to age of five years.
BODY:
Whereas, Common Council File 970785 authorized the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund the a Women, Infant and Children's Grant from the State of Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services for the purpose of preventing nutrition-related health problems and improving the health status of low-income, at-risk pregnant or breast-feeding women, infants and children up to age of five years. This grant provided for a Grantor share total of $1,078,416 and a City share total of $ 337,496; and

Whereas, The Grantor share for this program is increased by $48,128; the in-kind City share is increased by $8,915; and the total cost is increased by $57,043; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the State of Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services is authorized and the Health Department shall accept such a grant without further Common Council approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to encumber in the parent accounts of the 1998 Special Revenue Accounts-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amounts for the program titled Women, Infant and Children's Grant:
