Title
Substitute resolution amending Common Council File No. 011067 to change the funding source to the Economic Development Committee Fund for the development of a Business Improvement District web site and virtual resource center.
Analysis
This substitute resolution authorizes and directs the appropriate City officials to transfer $20,000 from the Economic Development Committee Fund to a Subaccount. The funds will be used for the development of the Business Improvement District web site and virtual resource center.
Body
Whereas, On January 22, 2002 the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee authorized the development of the Business Improvement District web site and virtual resource center via File No. 011067; and
Whereas, Upon further review of File No. 011067 by the Comptroller's Office and the City Attorney's Office, it was determined that the intended use of funds was not an eligible activity under the Development Fund; and
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee's 2002 Capital Budget provides $50,000 for the Economic Development Committee Fund; and
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee has an ongoing commitment to the creation and growth of Business Improvement Districts throughout the city; and
Whereas, The Department of City Development can provide the economic development resources to assist Business Improvement Districts in their efforts to revitalize the city's commercial districts; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that File No. 011067 is amended to authorize and direct the City Comptroller to transfer $20,000 from the Economic Development Committee Fund Account No. 0001-1310-S123-2002-006300 to the Business Improvement District Administration/Development Fund Account No. UR03393300; and, be it
