This substitute resolution authorizes the City of Milwaukee to purchase a portion of land at 1152-1164 North 54th Street for $2,000 and other mutual considerations. Such considerations include conveying to the owner of said property a vacant remnant parcel of City-owned land abutting said property and granting a limited access and drainage easement to said property owner. This is being done to provide the Department of Public Works, Forestry Division, another access road to its facility at 5230 West State Street.
BODY:
Whereas, The Department of Public Works, Forestry Division, wishes to provide another access road to their Central District at 5230 West State Street over North 54th Street; and

Whereas, Said road will provide improved access to their facility and improve the existing dead-end conditions of North 54th Street; and

Whereas, Said construction of this private road requires purchasing a portion of the property located at 1152-1164 North 54th Street; and

Whereas, Negotiations were commenced with parties of interest for this property which lead to the submittal of said Contract to Sell, a copy of which is attached to this Common Council File; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Contract to Sell, to the City of Milwaukee, a portion of 1152-1164 North 54th Street dated October 28, 1998, is accepted; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the remnant portion of City-owned, vacant land at 1168-70 North 54th Street be conveyed to the Maxmar Realty Co., Inc., as consideration under the terms outlined in the above-referenced Contract to Se...
