This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept contribution of $4,000 for the purchase of a Police Dog for the Canine Patrol Unit.
BODY:
Whereas, Section 304-24 of the City of Milwaukee Code of Ordinances regulates the receipt, appropriation and expenditure of contributions received by the City; and
 
Whereas, The Police Department has received an offer of donation of $4,000 from Nabisco and SuperSaver Grocery Stores for the purchase of a Police Dog for the Canine Patrol Unit; and
 
Whereas, This donation for the purchase of a Police Dog may result in some costs such as food, the dog will not be subject to budget replacement; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City of Milwaukee Police Department is authorized to accept a donation of $4,000 from Nabisco and SuperSaver Grocery Stores for the purchase of a Police Dog for the Canine Patrol Unit, in accordance with established City policies and procedures for acceptance of contributions; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That there may be some continuing costs for general upkeep however, the dog will not be authorized for budget replacement.
