Analysis
This ordinance standardizes fingerprinting requirements for license and permit applicants by establishing that individual applicants; each partner, if a partnership; and the agent as well as any persons holding 20% or more ownership, if a corporation or limited liability company, are required to be fingerprinted. Background investigations are also standardized under this ordinance by establishing that investigations are required to be conducted for the same persons subject to the fingerprinting requirement.

This ordinance also replaces several code provisions relating to the fingerprinting and investigation of applicants for specific types of licenses and permits with cross-references to new general fingerprinting and investigation requirement provisions.
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Section 84-7-5-d of the code is repealed and recreated to read:
84-7. Extended Hours Establishments.
5. APPLICATION.
d. All applicants shall be fingerprinted as provided in s. 85-21-1.

Part 2. Section 84-33-7 of the code is repealed and recreated to read:

84-33. Professional Photographer.

7. FINGERPRINTING. a. All applicants shall be fingerprinted as provided in s. 85-21-1.

Part 3. Section 84-58-2 of the code is repealed and recreated to read:
84-58. Application Procedures.
2. FINGERPRINTING. a. All applicants shall be fingerprinted as provided in s. 85-21-1.

Part 4. Section 84-66-2-c of the code is repealed.

Part 5. Section 85-21 of the code is created to read:
85-21. Fingerprinting and Investigation Required....
