When the Common Council established Business Improvement District No. 19 in 1997, it set the size of the BID Board at five members. This resolution increases the size of the BID Board to seven members in accord with a request from the BID proponents.
BODY:
Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee by Common Council File No. 970778, adopted September 23, 1997, created Business Improvement District No. 19 ("BID No. 19") and approved its first year Operating Plan; and
 
Whereas, The initial BID No. 19 Operating Plan approved by the Common Council specified that the Board of BID No. 19 shall have five members; and
 
Whereas, The proponents of BID No. 19 have requested that its size be increased to seven members to provide a broader representation of businesses in the Villard Avenue area; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Board of BID No. 19 shall consist of seven members; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That of the two new members, one shall initially serve a one-year term and one shall serve a three-year term; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That the Mayor is authorized and directed to appoint two persons to the newly created positions on the Board of BID No. 19 pursuant to the provisions of Section 66.608(3)(a), Wisconsin Statutes.
