This resolution authorizes and directs the Commissioner of Public Works to accept deposit monies from a developer to begin preliminary design for the alteration of public utilities prior to the execution of a development agreement for the Milwaukee Art Museum expansion project.
BODY:
Whereas, The developer for the Milwaukee Art Museum desires to enter into a development agreement with the City of Milwaukee to provide for the alteration of public utilities to serve the development; and
Whereas, The development agreement for this development has not, as yet, been prepared for execution; and
Whereas, The developer is desirous of expediting the preliminary engineering for the preparation of plans and cost estimates for the alteration of public utilities; and
Whereas, The developer is willing to deposit the necessary amount of money to cover these preliminary engineering costs; and
Whereas, The proposed preliminary engineering work will be at no expense to the City of Milwaukee; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to accept, from the developer, deposit monies sufficient to cover the cost of and to proceed with the preliminary engineering for the preparation of plans and cost estimates for alterations to public utilities necessary to serve the Milwaukee Art Museum expansion project.
