This resolution cancels a portion of the Judgment entered on behalf of the City of Milwaukee and against Michael and Delores Gipson by the Kohn Law Firm.
Body:
Whereas, The Kohn Law Firm entered a Judgment on behalf of the City of Milwaukee and against Michael and Delores Gipson on July 24, 2002, in the amount of $24,447.66, Milwaukee Circuit Court Case No. 01CV011224, for real estate taxes at 3175 North 27th Street, tax key no. 286-0201-000; and
Whereas, The Kohn Law Firm has determined that Michael and Delores Gipson have no assets from which to pay the Judgment; and
Whereas, Michael and Delores Gipson are able to secure $15,000.00 in loan proceeds from family to satisfy the Judgment; and
Whereas, The settlement of the Judgment is in the best interests of the City; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Judgment against Michael and Delores Gipson be settled for $15,000.00 and that $9,447.66 of said Judgment be and is hereby cancelled.
