Title
Resolution relative to a public hearing to determine whether the residential area surrounding the Auer Avenue School and Police Athletic League is eligible for designation as a Commuter Parking Impacted Area pursuant to Section 101-27.7 of the code.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the holding of a public hearing to determine whether to designate a residential permit parking district in the area bounded by West Auer Avenue, West Burleigh Street, North 21st Street and North 25th Street.
 
Body
Whereas, The residential area adjacent to the Auer Avenue School and Police Athletic League has long had an on-street parking problem which might be lessened by issuing residential parking permits; and
 
Whereas, An investigation performed by the Commissioner of Public Works, through compliance with established objective criteria, indicates that this residential area is impacted by commuter vehicles; and
 
Whereas, Section 101-27.7-5 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances requires that a public hearing be held by the Common Council prior to the designation of residential parking permit areas; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that pursuant to the provisions of Section 101-27.7 of the code, a public hearing shall be held to determine whether to designate a residential permit parking district in the area bounded by West Auer Avenue, West Burleigh Street, North 21st Street and North 25th Street; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That before the hearing, due notice shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation throughout the city and in the Daily Reporter, and similar notification shall be mailed to every household, the identity of which can be reasonably be established within the area under consideration.
