Analysis
This resolution will result in the sale of a vacant, tax-deed lot for residential construction.
Body
Whereas, The Fuller Education Foundation, Inc., ("Foundation") has offered $1.00 to purchase the vacant, tax-deed lot located at 1902 North 28th Street to construct a single-family home for sale to a qualified owner-occupant; and
Whereas, The Department of City Development ("DCD") recommends acceptance of said Offer contingent upon site and building plan approval by its Planning Division along with a financial commitment to complete the project as proposed; and
Whereas, Said lot is being sold in an "as is" condition and the City makes no representations as to soil or subsoil condition; and
Whereas, The City Plan Commission has determined that said lot is surplus to municipal needs; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that said lot is declared surplus, that the Offer from the Fuller Education Foundation, Inc., is accepted, that the Commissioner of DCD, or assigns, is authorized and directed to perform such acts as necessary to carry out the intent of this resolution and that the proceeds from the sale be credited to the Reserve For Tax Deficit Fund, Account No. 0001-334106.
