Analysis
This resolution authorizes and directs the City Comptroller to transfer funds and create the necessary accounts for the preliminary engineering work for the improvement of West Blue Mound Road (USH 18) from North 66th Street to North Story Parkway. The Project Agreement for the project was approved by Common Council Resolution File Number 981633 on March 23, 1999. The total preliminary engineering work is estimated at $248,400, of which the City's share is estimated to be $60,850.

Whereas, Common Council Resolution File Number 981633, adopted March 23, 1999, authorized and directed the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a Project Agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WISDOT) for the improvement of West Blue Mound Road (USH 18) from North 66th Street to North Story Parkway with Federal and/or State aid; and

Whereas, The Commissioner of Public Works executed the Agreement and WISDOT subsequently authorized the preliminary engineering work; and

Whereas, WISDOT has informed us that Federal/State funding for this project is available for construction in 2004; and

Whereas, It is necessary to begin preliminary engineering on this project in order to meet the scheduled 2004 construction; and

Whereas, It is necessary to transfer funds and create the project accounts for the preliminary engineering for the project; now, therefore, be it
