Analysis
This resolution will result in the sale of a vacant, tax-deed lot.
Body
Whereas, Rainmaker Enterprises, Inc., has purchased the manufacturing building at 215 West Maple Street, Tax Key No. 462-1002-4, and is rehabilitating the building for 58 condominium units; and
Whereas, The Board of Zoning Appeals has approved a variance for residential use conditioned upon appropriate parking for tenants; and
Whereas, Rainmaker Enterprises, Inc., has submitted an unsolicited Offer to Purchase in the amount of $1 for the vacant, tax-deed lot located at 1815 South 2nd Street, Tax Key No. 462-1003-X, for parking lot development; and
Whereas, The Department of City Development recommends sale in an "as is" condition without representations or warranties including but not limited to soil quality and subsurface condition; and
Whereas, The City Plan Commission has determined that said lot is surplus to municipal needs; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that said lot is declared surplus; and, be it
Further Resolved, That said unsolicited Offer to Purchase is accepted and that the proper City officials are authorized and directed to perform such acts as necessary to carry out the intent of this resolution with the proceeds from the sale credited to the Reserve For Tax Deficit Fund Account No. 0001-334106.
