Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute an agreement between the City and Milwaukee County regarding the installation and maintenance of a bus shelter at the southwest corner of E. North and N. Oakland Avenues. The shelter is of a unique design and is part of the E. North Avenue streetscaping project. The City will assign its rights and obligations under this agreement with Milwaukee County to the E. North Avenue Business Improvement District (BID 20).
Body

Whereas, The E. North Avenue Business Improvement District (BID 20), in conjunction with the City of Milwaukee, is in the process of completing a streetscaping project for its area; and

Whereas, One element of that project is the installation of new street furniture including two uniquely designed bus shelters, one of which will be located at the southwest corner of E. North and N. Oakland Avenues; and

Whereas, The new bus shelter on the west side of Oakland Avenue will be situated partially in City right-of-way and partially on property belonging to Milwaukee County; and

Whereas, Milwaukee County has proposed an agreement with the City stipulating the terms and conditions for installation and maintenance of the bus shelter; and

Whereas, The City has a Maintenance Agreement with the board of BID 20 which outlines responsibilities for maintenance of the various streetscape elements; and

Whereas, This Maintenance Agreement indicates that BID 20 will be responsible for maintenance of the project's street furniture; and
