Substitute resolution relative to acceptance and funding of the 2023-2024 Bioterrorism Grant - Focus CRI (Cities Readiness Initiative) from the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services.

Analysis
Substitute resolution authorizes the Health Department to accept, and fund the 2023-2024 Bioterrorism Grant - Focus CRI (Cities Readiness Initiative) from the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services in the amount of $249,015 with a City share of $0 and a grantor share of $249,015. The funding will provide support for planning and tools needed in the case of a large emergency or natural disaster. Participation in CRI will enable the City of Milwaukee to participate in Federal response actions and access material from the Strategic National Stockpile as needed.

Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services to plan and prepare for a large emergency or natural disaster; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant program from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024 will cost $249,015 comprised of $249,015, or 100%, grantor share and $0, or 0%, City share; now, therefore, be it;

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it

Further Resolved, that the Commissioner of Health or their designee is authorized to execute the grant agreement for these funds; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant parent account of the 2023 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project titled Cities Readiness Initiative:
