This charter ordinance eliminates the exemption of certain school board employes of being considered general city employes for purposes of s. 36-05-1-h-4, 3-b-2, 3-g--0 and 6-d-2 (employes' retirement benefits).

BODY:

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1. Section 36-02-17-c of the charter is amended to read:

 

36-02. Definitions.

 

17. GENERAL CITY EMPLOYE.

 

c. For purposes of s. 36-05-1-h-4, 3-b-2 and 3-g-0, and 6-d-2, general city employe shall include employes of the exposition center, the Milwaukee vocational, technical and adult education district, the Milwaukee metropolitan sewerage district and employes of the school board [[who are not covered by a collective bargaining agreement between the school board and the administrators and supervisors council or who are not exempted from being covered by such collective bargaining agreements or who are not defined as cabinet employes under s. 119.42(1), Wis. Stats.]].

 

Part 2 . This is a charter ordinance and shall take effect 60 days after its passage and publication, unless within such 60 days a referendum petition is filed as provided in s. 66.01(5), Wis. Stats., in which event this ordinance shall not take effect until submitted to a referendum and approved by a majority of the electors voting thereon.
